WeAreTheAlliance: Retours de l'AG de l'Alliance

Du 1er au 5 novembre, nous avons participé à l'Assemblée Générale de l’Alliance, notre réseau européen des associations de volontariat. Ce moment de rencontre, comme chaque année, a été significatif, soulignant notre fort engagement en faveur du partenariat pour la construction de la paix.

Nous avons été accueilli·e·s à Overasselt par l'association SIW des Pays-Bas, un exemple concret de collaboration internationale. L'AG a rassemblé 48 participant·e·s représentant 31 associations, tou·te·s unis·es par un objectif commun : promouvoir le volontariat comme un moyen essentiel pour la construction de la paix.

L'Assemblée Générale a été l'occasion pour les membres de l'Alliance de formuler des propositions visant à renforcer notre travail et à affiner notre vision du volontariat axée sur la paix. Nous avons discuté et évalué les réalisations faites par les différentes instances de l'Alliance : les équipes (TEAMS), les groupes d’action nécessaires (NAG) et les communautés d’intérêts (COI) tout au long de l'année, dans une perspective de partenariat pour la paix.

Actions et échanges pour la paix !

Le point fort de notre réunion a été la mise en place de plusieurs ateliers, dont l'un a réuni les représentant·e·s de deux associations palestiniennes. Nous avons discuté de la situation actuelle et réaffirmé le rôle crucial du volontariat international dans la construction de la paix. Un autre atelier a été animé par le partenaire ukrainien Alternative V, qui ont partagé leur expérience sur un chantier international en Ukraine, un exemple concret de partenariat international pour la paix.

Lors de la dernière journée, nous avons uni nos voix pour voter en faveur de plusieurs propositions des membres, dont la déclaration en soutien au cessez-le-feu en Palestine, démontrant ainsi notre engagement envers la promotion de la paix.

Malgré un agenda chargé, nous avons également trouvé le temps de participer à un mini-chantier, soulignant notre détermination à mettre en pratique nos valeurs de solidarité et de partenariat pour la paix. L'association d'accueil, SIW, a tout mis en œuvre pour garantir le succès de cet événement, en accord avec les principes de durabilité environnementale.

From November 1st to 5th, we took part in the General Assembly of the Alliance, our European network of volunteering service organisations. This yearly meeting was important, showing our strong dedication to working together for peace.

We were welcomed in Overasselt by  SIW Netherlands, which is a good example of international cooperation. The GA brought together 48 participants representing 31 groups, all working towards the common goal of promoting volunteering as a crucial way to build peace.

During the General Assembly, Alliance members shared ideas on how to make our network stronger and better focus on volunteering for peace. We discussed and reviewed the work done by different committes of the Alliance, such as TEAMS , Necessary Action Groups (NAG), and Communities of Interest (COI), all with a focus on working together for peace.

Actions and discussions for peace!

The most important part of our meeting was when we organised various workshops. One of these workshops brought together representatives from two Palestinian organisations. We talked about the current situation and how international volunteering plays a critical role in building peace. Another workshop was led by our partner from Ukraine, Alternative V, who shared their experience from an international project in Ukraine, showing how working together internationally can promote peace.

On the last day, we all voted in support of several member proposals, including a statement in support of a ceasefire in Palestine, which shows our commitment to promoting peace.

Even with a busy schedule, we found time to take part in a small workcamp, showing our determination to live by our values of solidarity and working together for peace.  SIW, did everything they could to make sure this GA was successful and in line with principles of environmental sustainability.
