Egyesek Youth Association is an organization formed by a group of active, passionate and committed youth workers, trainers, coaches, and volunteers. We contribute to communities to make people aware of their own freedom of choice, so they can do what they love, and connect with each other peacefully. We have organized local and international youth projects for 23 years. By methods of non-formal learning we aim that young people explore their own strengths and resources using them consciously to fulfil their personal and professional life. To reach that, we do training and volunteer activities.

You are responsible to organize your own travel and cover the expenses to Budapest. From Budapest, there will be an organized bus to Creative Space. We ask you to arrive on the 23rd of June at the latest by 5 pm to the KÖKI terminal (Budapest, Vak Bottyán u. 75/A-C, 1191) and from there we travel by bus together to Hollókő.

Travail

We invite you to join us and be part of the extraordinary Youth of Szécsény international voluntary camp of Egyesek together with 32 international and Hungarian local young people! By participating you will be a creator of a wonderfully diverse community who live and work together all along the 16 days of the camp. During the activities you will get chance to contribute in our mission: create equal opportunity to rural children and youth in order to increase the quality of their lives. You will deliver English-speaking, creative workshops for local children and youth who are living in deep poverty: playing games, outdoor activities, introducing your culture, dancing, making photos and videos, and doing handcrafts. During the two weeks we will visit the nearby villages where we will deliver these non-formal learning programs in youth centres or join summer camps. You may participate in voluntary actions in Creative Space and tackle local needs. You will have free time to have fun in many different ways; parties, open-air camping, doing sports, hiking, biking, creating your own cinema or theatre, and making your own plan. We will start with a 2 days onboarding program and after that our youth workers will coordinate the activities and support you on the field, and we will organise regular mentor meetings to create a safe space for sharing, reflection and development and even a closing workshop.

Logement & nourriture

You will live in a community accommodation called Creative Space Training Center surrounded by beautiful nature. This is a 3-level stone building with 4-6 bedded rooms which all have their own showers and toilets. Bedsheets and towels will be provided. The address of the accommodation is 31 Orgonastreet, 3176 Hollókő. In the building of the group accommodation, you can find the kitchen, dining room, common social area, and laundry room. The camp is located in Nógrád county in the north of Hungary. this region is one of the poorest in Hungary but has many cultural villages, the most famous is Hollókő which is listed as a Unesco World Heritage. It has a cultural centre and ruins of a castle with a beautiful view. The nearby hills provide many opportunities for small excursions in beautiful surroundings with lakes and forests. Budapest the capital of Hungary is about 100 km away from the region.
