Organization Aim and Focused
NVCYE's primary goal is to conduct regular Women's Empowerment Programs catering to individuals or groups of at least five participants. These programs cover a diverse range of topics and objectives, with a strong emphasis on cultural exchange and teaching. The programs are available throughout the year and offer opportunities for participants to engage in various forms of social work. These include working with children, teaching, organic farming, community development initiatives, conservation efforts, and plantation projects.
Introduction NVCYE-P
Nepal Volunteers and Cultural Youth Exchange Program (NVCYE Program) is a non-profit organization registered with the social welfare Council of Nepal government. It was established in 2004 with the aim of empowering local communities to implement and organize community development, education, and conservation projects. NVCYE offers year-round Nepal volunteer program around Teaching, Orphanage, Organic Farming, Women’s Empowerment, Conservation, Nun & Monk Teaching, Plantation, and Health. Though our central office is situated in Kathmandu, our work is presently scattered throughout 6 out of 75 districts in Nepal.
Program in Nepal
The Program is especially designed for high school students and new university students who are enthusiastic about traveling and volunteer work. Project site falls at Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara and Remote areas.
Duration : At least 4 weeks
Program Type : Community Support, Teaching English to community women and group support house activities, Agricultural activities women empowering.

Note: Basic type of Nepalese food is provided. Volunteers should not expect luxurious accommodations in Nepal.
Safety
The safety of our volunteers is our priority. We discuss safety situations, field conditions, locals do and do not, and local culture during orientation. So, volunteer will understand most basic stuffs before they join volunteering program.
We offer established projects and experienced host family with international volunteers.
Nepal is a peaceful country. Most of the people are friendly, warm, and helpful. However, to make your stay safer and more comfortable, we have developed some guidelines. These guidelines were developed with your safety in mind, so please follow the guidelines for a safe and exciting trip. Please remember that every civil society has some unsociable elements. Nepal is no exception in this.
Please do not go out alone after dark. In case of emergencies, please call your host family, the project leader, or the coordinator.
Please do not drink alcohol with local people in restaurants.
Please do not stay or travel alone in forests or isolated areas.
Please do not join political demonstrations, discussions, and groups. Please avoid any kind of demonstration.
Please keep photocopies of all your passports, visas and other important documents.
Please do not swim in local rivers. Nepalese rivers are often very fast flowing with unseen undercurrents.
Please avoid eating food from unknown sources.
Please call your host family, the project leader, or the coordinator if you require any kind of help or if you feel sick, have diarrhea or any other illness.
Note: Project Coordinator are always there to help you 24/7 at any time.
How to Prepare
Make sure your passport is up to date. To enter Nepal, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your program start date.
Vaccination: Hepatitis A; Typhoid; Meningitis; Tetanus; Polio; Mumps; Measles; Japanese Encephalitis; Hepatitis B and Rabies. (Recommended). Please make sure that you have received the required and mandatory vaccinations. For more information, please click on this link.
Money Exchange: The currency of Nepal is Rupees (Rs). USD and Euro are widely accepted; however, the exchange rate is based on local trend approximately near to government rule. It’s a good idea to exchange money from the bank. You must have your original passport with you to exchange money. There are ATMs all around Nepal, mostly in Kathmandu valley capital city of Nepal. You can with draw cash simply using normal debit card, Master card, Credit for a small fee.
Contact your bank and credit card companies to alert them of your international travel plans.
Write down your credit card contact information in case you lose your card.
Travel Insurance: Based on the suggestion of sending organization travel insurance is needed to have while travelling to Nepal.

Rules for Volunteers in Host Family
Some of the rules are designed to protect you and other participants:
No smoking and not drinking alcohol in inside the accommodations & Project.
Drugs are strictly forbidden. Consumption or possession of drugs will be reported to authorities, and you will be immediately removed from the program.
Most Nepali people are Hindu; cows are worshiped as goodness so please do not ask for beef.
Dress appropriately, modestly and conduct yourself professionally.
Avoid any dating or romantic activities in the host family. Local customs are very sensitive, and you must be aware of the consequences of your actions.
Overnight guests are NOT permitted in host family accommodations.
Please inform in advance to your family member if you are not coming back for a night.
Please do not use facilities of the host family (TV, radio, VCR, bike etc) without permission.
Always keep your door closed when you go out and make sure your belonging is safely kept.
Please wash your clothes and dishes yourself.
We expect all our participants to be present and punctual.
Note - Breaking any of the rules is grounds for removal from the program without a refund
