PARTENAIRE

GREAT organizes a project that aims to give a better life to stray cats by working together with a local social entrepreneur pet shop in Semarang City called Star Paws. The movement started with a street feeding activity to provide stray cats with proper food and clean water. When a cat is found sick and in need of medication, there will be on-site treatment. Further examination with a vet is also provided when needed. To control the population of the stray cat, we raise funds to neuter the stray cat.   Apart from setting aside its income to support stray cats' lives, Star Paws also has partnerships with veterinarian and cat-lover communities in Semarang City to help keep running the mission. It also provides free education to cat owners who would like to learn more about how to pet a cat properly. Star Paws has a mini shelter with 20 cats that were rescued from the streets. There is also a campaign to stop animal abuse through social media, gatherings, talk shows, and local actions. They do this knowing that some people torture animals aimlessly.    With the support of IVS volunteers, we hope this movement will have a stronger echo to the world.
