It's about taking the time to notice what we see, breathe deeply, feel the contact with the air, the textures of the leaves, listen to the wind in the trees, hear the birds.
Activities:
- Cleaning of the wooded area and route of the Verdugo river to create the indigenous healing Galician forest in the Shinrin-Yoku style, conditioning areas for the practice of yoga, sighting of souls, preparation of vegetation, ...
- Creation of QR codes with explanations and guidance for visitors to the itinerary.
- Elaboration of a general information panel with the explanation and meaning of this forest.

The history of Soutomaior is linked to the history of its castle, an indisputable center of reference. Its origin and exact construction chronology are unknown, but its foundation must be linked to Pax Méndez Sorrede, who was the first to use the surname Soutomaior. Among the most famous members of this family are Pax Gómez de Soutomaior, for his political expertise, or Pedro de Soutomaior, the most renowned member of this lineage, known as Pedro Madruga, Count of Camiña, who went down in history as a character of mystery and legend. There is a thesis, defended by many historians, on the Galician origin of Cristobal Colón stating that he and Pedro Madruga were the same person.
The Xacobea Route, Camino Portugues. Through Soutomaior passes the Xacovea Route for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela: the Camiño Portugues. This route became relevant, especially from the twelfth century, after the independence of Portugal. Its layout inherits old tracks and paths, such as Via XIX, built in the 1st century AD. C., which linked Braga (Portugal) with Astorga through Ponte de Lima (Portugal), Tui, Pontevedra, Santiago and Lugo, and which was one of the most important Roman roads, since it was the backbone of Gallaecia, today Galicia. The Jacobean cult has had in the Portuguese Way a fundamental territory to understand the true international dimension of the phenomenon of pilgrimages.
