Pilares is a foundation that works together with children and families who live in shantytowns in the City of Buenos Aires, providing opportunities to promote their integral development. They accompany 500 families in Villa 21-24 (Barracas popular neighborhood) and Villa 1-11-14 (Bajo Flores popular neighborhood), Nueva Pompeya neighborhood and surroundings through several programs. Pilarcitos is the community kindergarten where volunteer work contributes more.

WORKING DAYS/ HOURS: 2 to 4 times per week minimum 5 hours per day.
Each extra week costs 90€.
Visa: Argentina allows a stay of up to 90 days when entering as a tourist.
-Personalized care for children: Volunteers provide basic care to children, ensuring they are comfortable, safe, and attended to during their stay. This includes assisting with personal hygiene, diaper changes, and ensuring each child receives the attention they need according to their age and specific needs.
-Early stimulation: Volunteers actively engage in activities that stimulate the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of the children, such as games, songs, readings, and other age-appropriate activities.
-Assisting with planning and implementing educational activities: Volunteers help teachers prepare and organize educational and recreational activities for the children, ensuring the learning environment is appropriate and enriching.
-Organizing games and recreational activities: Volunteers design and facilitate recreational games that promote fun and learning, such as outdoor activities, games with educational materials, and water play.
-Maintaining clean and organized spaces: Volunteers help maintain order in various areas of the maternity, such as rooms, activity areas, bathrooms, and the kitchen, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children.
-Assisting with daily routines: Volunteers help children follow their daily routines, ensuring activities like rest, meals, hygiene, and educational tasks Supervision during meals: Volunteers assist children during mealtime, ensuring they are eating properly, monitoring how much food they consume, and helping children who need assistance eating.
-Maintaining order in common areas: Volunteers help organize common areas, such as hallways, playrooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms, to ensure the environment is clean, tidy, and safe for everyone
Subir al Sur provides accommodation in a shared house with other volunteers and gives money to buy food.
Pompeya is a neighborhood in the southern part of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is primarily residential, with a mix of working-class and middle-class homes. The area is known for its vibrant community, local markets, and small businesses. Pompeya is well-connected to other parts of Buenos Aires through public transportation, including buses and the subway. Historically, the neighborhood has seen urban development and faces ongoing challenges related to infrastructure and public services.
