Phuc Tue Center was established in June 2001, and currently staffed with 12 teachers and care givers. There are 48 children and young people with disabilities divided into 5 classes. Most of them have Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder, or suffering from the effects of Agent Orange.
Their range of age is from 6 to 22 years old.
The center’s aim is to integrate those into society by providing:
-Basic and general education programs, physical
education, yoga, meditation, painting and poetry.
-Assistance for those who having developmental
disabilities.
-Opportunities to receive care and education and to be
included in their local community.
Volunteers should be :

· Proactive and optimistic
· Patient and sympathetic
· Love playing with young children
· Creative!
The minimum duration is 2 weeks and the amount of the participation fee is 400€ for 2 weeks. Each additional week is 100€ more.
Volunteers with experience or qualifications in the field of/related to care for children with special needs can help staff with special educational assistance, including:
-Providing occupational therapy/ physiotherapy to facilitate, develop, improve and maintain sensory- motor, and daily living skills among students.
- Updating the children’s profiles with the observations from evidence-based practice.
- Facilitating collaboration with teachers and caregivers to maximize child’s development.
- Developing the child’s ability to participate in school and family activities and functions, so that the child will be able } to take their full place within the community.
While the others can help a lot with the following tasks:
- Caring for and playing with disabled children (including planning activities): taking them out for a walk, massaging, physical exercises, etc.
-Supporting teachers with organizing lessons, making teaching materials.
- Teaching social skills including practice buttoning, folding clothes, following instructions from teachers, drawing, painting, making toys, etc.
- Feeding little children during lunch time.
Working hours: from 8:30am to 4:30pm (Mon – Fri) with a lunch break from 11:00am to 2:30pm.
Volunteers will stay in a shared house/apartment for the volunteers. They will share their meals and the food will be provided by the hosting organisation.
The project is about 45 minutes from accommodation. The volunteers will need to pay the local transportation by themselves.
Volunteers are free on week-ends wan they can travel and explore Vietnam alone or together with the other volunteers.
