Uganda Pioneers´ Association (UPA) is an indigenous youth voluntary Non-Government Organization (NGO) registered with the National NGO Bureau in Uganda, under No. S5914/114. The organization focuses on offering youths with the opportunity to contribute to community development by involving them in community projects through workcamps and international volunteer exchanges. The organisation is Not-for-Profit and does not represent any political, religious or sectarian motives.

UPA organizes one of our staff or volunteers to pick up volunteers from the airport in Entebbe or at any bus station in Kampala. (The volunteer or staff will hold a printed out A4 paper with the name Uganda Pioneers Association and the Name of the expected Volunteer. To receive this service you need to confirm your arrival details including flight name, number, arrival day, date and time with UPA and your sending Organisation.

Informations supplémentaires

MYDEL has different programs, it depends on the volunteers skills and interest where to engage, there is room for new activities. Volunteers with social work skills but also other professions are very welcomed, but no profession is needed.

• Teaching • Organizing, teaching and supervising in the computer class • Assisting in Counseling and psychosocial support • Vocational training (if the volunteers brings the skills) • Soccer program • Music, dance and drama • participating in community and home visits together with other staff, to see the life situation of the children living in the slums

Logement & nourriture vegetarian

Accommodation Volunteers has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury. Food Volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils. Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture.
