Uganda Pioneers´ Association (UPA) is an indigenous youth voluntary Non-Government Organization (NGO) registered with the National NGO Bureau in Uganda, under No. S5914/114. The organization focuses on offering youths with the opportunity to contribute to community development by involving them in community projects through workcamps and international volunteer exchanges. The organisation is Not-for-Profit and does not represent any political, religious or sectarian motives.

UPA organizes one of our staff or volunteers to pickup volunteers from the airport in Entebbe or at any bus station in Kampala. (The volunteer or staff will hold a printed out A4 paper with the name Uganda Pioneers Association and the Name of the expected Volunteer. To receive this service you need to confirm your arrival details including flight name, number, arrival day, date and time with UPA and your sending Organisation.

Informations supplémentaires

500 Euros shall be paid on arrival for one to three months .If the volunteer is to stay for more than 3 months, 80 euros are paid per extra month in advance.

• Administrative work • Fundraising activities - To be part in drawing fundraising avenues/plan to raise money for community activities • Organizing events, writing reports, Data entry, computer work, • Monitoring and evaluation of projects. • Strategy planning (mainly experienced volunteers but also motivated ones), Writing field success stories, lessons learnt, best practices. • HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT), Field Impact assessments, • Visiting families and explain the importance of using Family Planning contraceptives. • Engaging in Youth Friendly services, • To raise awareness about health, education and sanitation

Logement & nourriture vegetarian

Accomodation Volunteers has the possibility to choose between staying in the guesthouse, with different international volunteers (sharing room, normally 2-4 people) or to stay in a host family. Accommodation is at the UPA Guesthouse, average but not luxury. Food Volunteers prepare their own food. UPA provides gas cooker, a fridge, and utensils. Alternatively, a volunteer can stay with a host family to be more exposed to the Ugandan culture.

Emplacement & temps libre

LOCATION Its located at Bulabakulu Village, Banda Parish, Mende Sub-county, Wakiso District Uganda. LEISURE, The Volunteer may use leisure time to visit some sites around the city which include, Kasubi Tombs, Bahai and Hindu Temples, Uganda Martyrs shrines, local markets, craft shops, Ndere centre, Uganda Museum, Monument sites, Uganda Parliament, factories and other explorations.
