Since 2014, the center’s mission is to maximize human potential, minimize limitations and defects, build a sustainable and happy society.To be specific:
- Build a quality and effective diagnostic, evaluation, counseling, training and intervention facility to help children with developmental disorders to be able to learn and integrate into the community;
-Organize classes on social skills and integration intervention at preschools;
- Create and connect other facilities for diagnosis, evaluation and interventions nationwide to aim for the best for children with disabilities in Vietnam in general and children with developmental disorders in particular;
-Conduct scientific research activities, training for parents, individuals and other organizations on diagnosis, evaluation and intervention for children with developmental disorders once a month on average.

Volunteers should :
-Love playing with kids and keen on working with disabled children;
-Be responsible, patient, sympathetic and polite; Proactive, friendly, creative and flexible;
-Be open-minded: Please ask and do not assume when there is any question;
About the working placement: The center is divided into different classes depending on children’s mental age and learning purposes, with individual and group lessons.
Interns and volunteers are encouraged to read about disabilities, developmental disorders and how to work with special children. Interns and volunteers are working closely with teachers and staff in the center. Most of staff members do not speak English and if some do, they are not fluently in it. Therefore, please contact CSDS staff/ Vietnamese supporters if there is any question.
Dress code: Casual and comfortable clothes are recommended, the clothes should be at elbows and knees-length.
The minimum duration is 2 weeks and the amount of the participation fee is 400€ for 2 weeks. Each additional week is 100€ more.
Roles of interns and volunteers are dependent on the needs of the center and your experience, include but not limited to:
-Assisting kids in their daily schedule (in learning sessions, in individual and group interventions, in exercising, …);
-Caring for and playing with disabled children: taking them out for a walk, massaging, physical activities...;
-Supporting teachers with organizing lessons, making teaching materials;
-Teaching children life skills including practice buttoning, folding clothes, following instructions from teachers; drawing, painting, making toys, etc;
-Feeding kids during lunch time, help clean classrooms…; Networking and fundraising if possible; organizing charity campaigns for books, old clothes, old shoes for the children…
-Volunteers with experience or related qualifications are encouraged to help staff with clinical and special educational assistance.
Working hours : From 8:30am to 4:00pm (Mon – Fri) with a lunch break from 11:00am to 2:20pm.
Volunteers will stay in a shared house/apartment for the volunteers. They will share their meals and the food will be provided by the hosting organisation.
The project is about 45 mis by bus from the accommodation. Volunteers normally take either bus number 14 or 45 to the project. The volunteers will need to pay the local transportation by themselves.
Volunteers are free on week-ends wan they can travel and explore Vietnam alone or together with the other volunteers.
