The work will be outside and it is expected that you do have some experience with manual/piratical work. It is also important that you bring practical clothing for all kinds of weather.
Himmelstorm Festival has since it’s infancy been non-profit, which makes our volunteers essential for making Himmelstorm what it is today. Every year approximately 220 volunteers contribute to making Himmelstorm an experience to remember.
You’ll meet new friends and have an experience of a lifetime!
English will be the only language spoken at the Work Camp.
Unfortunately, we cannot take participants with disabilities.
At the Work Camp, you will be building the festival in collaboration with other volunteers. Building a festival is hard work, but incredibly fun and rewarding. The tasks will vary from day to day, but mainly manual work to prepare the framework for the festival.
We’ll be assembling pre-built structures, pitching big top tents, setting up showers and toilets and cooking meals for all the fabulous volunteers preparing the festival grounds for the festival. In addition, you must help tear down the festival and clean up when the festival is over. However, you will have free time during the festival where you can enjoy the good music and cosy atmosphere.
Sleeping facilities:
You will all be sleeping in two classrooms in a nearby school. You will have to bring your own sleeping bag and mattress.
Kitchen + bathroom facilities:
You and the other participants are responsible for making your own breakfast throughout the Work Camp, as well as all meals during the days where you close the festival. However, all expenses are covered by the camp host. There is a local supermarket close to where you live and there will be a primitive kitchen where you can cook.
You will have lunch and dinner during the days of constructing the festival, and during the festival, you will receive two meal+drink vouchers each day, that you can use as you wish. In other words, there will be extra expenses related to meals, unless you are in the mood for snacks, which you will have to pay for yourself
Unfortunately, there is no washing machine.
The camp is located in a cosy local area with beach and forest, so there is plenty of room for a lot of fun outdoor activities. The camp hosts would like to lend the groups some bikes so that you can all enjoy the lovely area together.
