The camp is the result of IBO Italy s collaboration with the congregation of the sisters of Maria Stella Matutina in Fontanellato (Parma), a religious community made up of 20 sisters from 10 different countries. The sisters arrived in 2016 in the ancient 16th century Dominican monastery in Fontanellato. Part of the sisters day is dedicated to humble and qualitative work. The dimension of work occupies an important place in the community besides prayer and study. The monastery is in need of a lot of restoration work, much has already been done but much remains to be completed.

Flashlight, work gloves, personal medicine, mosquito repellent products.If you play any musical instrument, bring them with you.it is asked of the volunteers to respect the religious and contemplative environment.

Remarques

MEETING POINT : Fidenza train station on 12/7 at 17:00 o clock. Volunteers will be met at the station and accompanied to the monastery, which is 15 minutes away from Fidenza station.

 

Travail

A part of the convent is not renovated yet: particularly painting and tidying up the large convent park are foreseen. General arrangement and renovation work: cleaning, plastering, painting and possible flooring in some places of the structure outside the monastery that will be used as a larger and future independent guesthouse.

Logement & nourriture

 

Provided by the monastery guesthouse at the second floor of the convent with 11 rooms, 6 bathrooms, a big room with kitchen. Double rooms are at disposition. The lunches will be served in the cafeteria of the guesthouse, while the dinner will be organized by the volunteers autonomously.

 

Emplacement & temps libre

The monastery is located in the center, near the Sanctuary and the Rocca Sanvitale, 25 kilometers from Parma.It is possible to visit Parma, Bologna, La Spezia (for a refreshing swim... after work) but also Fontanellato has swimming pools and a beautiful historic center.
