Work: Work tasks are divided into three parts including the construction of a wire fence (hammering, screwing, and stretching of the wire mesh), work in the castle park (mowing and raking grass, removing wood, and trim-ming small branches, taking care of flowers) as well as cleaning up work in the castle clearing debris in the castle cellar or repair of the stone wall. Bring suitable clothes and shoes for work that can get dirty or damaged. The castle where you will work is a 10-minute train ride away. As most of the work will be done outdoors, please, bring a waterproof jacket or a raincoat and a hat to protect you from the sun. No previous experience with this kind of work is required.
Study part: You will visit the town of Klatovy, go through the catacombs, see the Glass Pavilion (the second largest European publicly accessible collection of Lotz company glassworks) and learn about the town’s history. You will visit Pilsen and its famous brewery and go on an excursion to the Sumava National Park where you can see natural glacial lakes.
Logement & nourriture
Accommodation is provided in a family house in the village Pocinovice. You will sleep in two large rooms on mattresses. Please, bring your own sleeping bag! WIFI and a washing machine are available. There is also a bathroom, 2 toilets and a kitchen available. Breakfast, dinner, and snacks will be provided by the campleaders and the local partner. Lunch will be delivered to the work site.

Location: The Veseli Castle is located in the foothills of the Sumava Mountains in the small village of Veseli nad Uhlavou. The nearest bigger cities are Klatovy and Domazlice. Pilsen, the Czech capital of beer, is 50 km away from the site. The castle is surrounded by the picturesque South Bohemian countryside and the Sumava National Park is very close by. Everywhere is good phone reception. There is also an ATM in the village where you will be accommodated.
Leisure time: You will have a unique chance to experience a folklore festival in the town of Domazlice or visit the nearest bigger towns - Domazlice, Klatovy, and Janovice. You can meet with locals in Veseli nad Uhlavou during film/music/dance evenings, and help with organizing watercolour painting workshops for children and theatre performances in the castle park. It is possible to play various ball games, go for a swim and/or enjoy traditional dance evenings with locals in Pocinovice.
