SDA400 Discover the Nature‘s Magic in Krivoklatsko Solidarités Jeunesses

This workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Local Action Group Mezi Hrady (“Between Castles”) that strives to improve the quality of the environment in the 20 cities between the castles Karlstejn, Krivoklat and Tocnik in Central Bohemia. Mezi Hrady unites schools, associations, entrepreneurs, firefighters, farmers, church representatives and citizens. The aims of the workcamp are to draw attention to the problem of drying up of the landscape, to support water retention in the soil and to involve locals in the environmental activities. The volunteers will clean a stream bed and restore ponds, which have a retention capacity and can improve the lives of amphibians, insects, and plants. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of the UN SDG15 Life on Land.

Informations supplémentaires

Due to limited outgoing resources of INEX-SDA, we kindly ask participants to contribute 10 EUR towards the costs of general incoming administration of our workcamps. The fee will be collected upon arrival. Please note that this fee does not directly contribute to the workcamp budgets. Bring clothes and shoes that are suitable for work, a raincoat, a hat to protect yourself from the sun. You will have an opportunity to introduce your country to the locals - bring a special item that represents your country.

Travail

The work will consist mainly of manual activities in the forest. Working with wood (chopping, cutting, hammering), digging ponds, building wooden barrages, cleaning the area around the stream. You will need waterproof shoes or rubber boots, clothes that can get dirty or damaged and a raincoat. The place of work is not far from the accommodation (2 km). Volunteers will go on foot by taking a paved road through the village.

Logement & nourriture

Accommodation is provided in a reconstructed building of the football club (https://www.skhudlice.cz/fotoalbum/areal/p5300987.html). It is located in a quiet location with beautiful views approximately 300 m from the village. Volunteers can use the entire 1st floor, including a kitchen, a meeting room and a bathroom (4 -6 showers). Volunteers will sleep in one room in their own mats. It is necessary to bring a sleeping bag and a good mat. There is a volleyball court, a grassy area for football or other ball games. There is also a place for barbecue. WIFI is not available. Volunteers will cook for themselves in an equipped kitchen in the place of their accomodation. There is a smaller shop in the village.

Location: The village of Hudlice is located in the district of Beroun, Central Bohemia, about 7 km west of Beroun and about 35 km from the capital Prague. 1,200 inhabitants live here and the village is located in the protected landscape of Křivoklátsko (https://www.regiontourist.cz/co-podniknout/lokalita/krivoklatsko). Transport connection to the village is good by bus about 12 minutes from Beroun (from Prague to Beroun about 35 minutes by train). The walking route from Beroun is 9 km long through the forest.
