De Heerlijkheid van Heule” is an open ecological farm, funded by a home for children with problems (difficult parental situation, drug problems, …). This home (Oranjehuis vzw) has created De Heerlijkheid as a time out project. At this project everyone is welcome to help maintain and renovate the farm, from local people to international volunteers. Next to the agricultural function of the farm, the social inclusion objective is the farm’s number one priority.
At the farm there is accommodation for (international) volunteers to stay, a place for afterschool programmes, for trainings, they have a bakery, a kitchen, a shop, a wood atelier, …
At the area they have an old coffee factory. This is a protected heritage building, so outside nothing may be changed, but inside this needs some renovation work, because they want to use this as sleeping areas for families. In addition, they want to build a room for group sessions, movies, trainings, … open to the local community. In 2022 they have all sorts of ecological projects in mind for the work camp.

Technical jobs:
In addition, small jobs can be carried out on the property and can be assisted on land (eg planting / harvesting vegetables, baking bread ...) – if they want.
Volunteers will sleep in rooms at the farm. They need to bring their own sleeping bag and mattress. The volunteers will help also with the preparation of the meals.
