Travail
The work will be carried out in the area of Rabstejn Valley and it will be accessible from the camp on foot. The work will include removing woody plants, digging the soil, cleaning, installing educational signs, marking and creating hiking trails (e.g. installing wooden stairs). The physical demands will correspond to the capabilities of the individual participants. An employee of the technical services of the town will supervise the work. All the work described above should take place outside. In case of rainy weather; the participants will work in the roofed building of the former textile factory or in the town.
Logement & nourriture
There will be a camp built for the purpose of the workcamp. Accommodation in tents for 2 people, you will need to bring a mat and a sleeping bag. Facilities (such as kitchen or dining room) will be in the central tent. Volunteers cook for themselves on a mobile stove. In case of rainy weather, it is possible to use the premises of the former textile factory just next to the camp. Showers, toilets and kitchen will be available in the form of a mobile unit. Please be aware, that there will be no electricity in the camp and no wifi! Bad signal in the camp area.
Emplacement & temps libre
Location: Participants will be camping in a field located in the valley, in the near proximity of the former textile factory. There are ruins and monuments of the former Rabstejn concentration camp in the valley.
Our camp is 1.7 km far from the train station Veselé p. Rabštejnem. Therefore the best way to reach the workcamp is by train.
Leisure: Trips to the surrounding areas. There are three protected landscape areas, Czech Swiss National Park, a number of cultural monuments – in Česká Kamenice and in the nearby area e.g. chateau in nearby Děčín. There is also a swimming pool, a sports complex (hall games and outdoor tennis/badminton courts), a water park in Děčín, via ferrata, slackline, and play music instruments (feel free to bring yours!). There is a possibility to organise sports matches with locals.
