This archaeological and environmental themed volunteer camp at Monterrei Castle will seek to catalog, analyze and disseminate the origin of said fortress through the study of the lapidary signs present on the canvases of its buildings; as well as the protection of the natural environment with the placement of nest boxes and the cleaning of sensitive areas of the heritage complex as well as the immediate Natura 2000 Network and LIC Río Támega.
RECORD OF LAPIDARY SIGNS: an archaeological research project whose special mission is to locate, record and identify the lapidary signs present on the walls of the fortress of Monterrei.
PHOTOGRAMMETRIC SURVEY: photogrammetric record of the Fortaleza de Monterrei which will later facilitate the spatial location of the identified lapidary signs.
PLACEMENT OF BOXES - NEST: new nest boxes will be manufactured and placed in the natural surroundings of the Castle, with the aim of stopping the progress of the overpopulation of Thaumetopoea pityocampa, commonly known as processionary; as well as preserving the poultry species present there.
CLEANING OF RIVER AREAS. DISCLOSURE: creation of an informative catalog for all audiences, with the results of the campaign.
Logement & nourriture
The accommodation will be in the CEIP of Medeiros, in individual bunk beds. And the food will be of the cataring type.

Monterrei is located in the south of the Ourense province, bordering the Portuguese border. One of its most emblematic and well-known monuments is the Castelo dos Condes de Monterrei, from the 12th century. In addition, Monterrei is very famous for its wines, the DO (Denomination of Origin) Monterrei.
