PARTENAIRE

The Caritas Centre was created at the end of 2021 to help people with economic difficulties and different social backgrounds. It is involved in various activities such as a solidarity pharmacy, with a food and clothing store to donate to people living in the surrounding area, and running a listening centre.The group of people who run the centre also run a Eurodesk InfoPoint for local young people, who carry out activities with local schools. They have recently been given a plot of land by the local church, where a community vegetable garden will be planted in the spring.

Travail

Volunteers will support the Caritas Centre of Sant Agata di Militello in implementing recreational activities during a summer camp they organize in July for local kids and youngsters, many of whom are already supported by Caritas daily activities of social assistance and inclusion. The work will be mainly in the morning.

Logement & nourriture

Volunteers will sleep in shared rooms divided by gender, 4-6 people per rooms. Toilet andshower will be split by gender too. Grocery shopping is provided by the host and cooked by volunteers.

Emplacement & temps libre

Sant Agata di Militello is a coast-city with pebble beaches. The beach is very close to the accommodation. Excursion to the Nebrodi public Park (the biggest protected natural area in Sicily) or nearby town can be organised under own costs of volunteers.
