A clean criminal record in English
In regards to COVID-19, it is our ambition to complete our Work Camps this summer, but it is essential for us, that our volunteers feel safe during the time they spend at our camps. This is why we constantly keep ourselves updated on the situation and we follow the Danish government's instructions. Furthermore, we are ready to answer any questions that you might have, and we will keep all our volunteers updated right up until the start of the Work Camp.
We expect from you, that you want to do manual work, are curious about learning, are responsible and are a decent and nice person.
The work will mostly be outdoor, also if it’s raining, so bring practical clothes.
English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though being from the same country or having troubles with the English language. Try your best!
The work camp is manual work, so, unfortunately, we cannot take volunteers that are in a wheelchair or has a hearing or visual disability. If you have a disability that does not limit your ability to do manual work, then you are more than welcome.
Vegetarian food is available, and please let us know if you have any allergies.
The purpose of the Work Camp is to help out at school with projects that the staff normally have little time to do.
The school wants to share their place with young people, who are curious and interested to learn something about manual works as well as getting to know a little part of Denmark and the Folk High School tradition.
The work will vary during the Work Camp and includes maintaining the park, building projects, repairing, painting buildings etc.
The working hours are daily from 8.00 – 15.00. You will have Saturday and Sunday are free.
Sleeping facilities:
Alle Work Camp participants will get a double room with bedding and linen.
Kitchen + bathroom facilities:
The participants will eat all the meals at the school.
There are shared bath and toilet facilities and laundry facilities, where you can wash for 20 DKK
If you wish to do extra shopping, there is a local shop very closed to the school or you can go to the city; Vejen, which is 3 km. from the school.
The school is located in the city of Vejen, a municipality in Southern Jutland, with shopping facilities, banks, an art museum etc.
To the west of Vejen is Esbjerg, Ribe and the North Sea, and to the east is Kolding, Vejle and Aarhus. This means that there are lots of interesting places to visit in the area, and it is possible to go to all these places by train or bus from Vejen.
