The purpose of the workcamp is bringing young people an approach to different tasks of archaeology, such as digging and the study of archaeological remains. Scientifically, it aims to enhance the knowledge of the Roman city of Aeso (Isona). There are three actions planned: a) Surface cleaning of the land plot known as Hort del Cavaller b) Archaeological excavation on the same plot c) Treatment and study of archaeological items from the site preserved in the Museu de la Conca Dellà, both from the current excavation and from the precedent ones. Every day, the participants will be distributed into subgroups in different areas of the site to carry out the indicated tasks, taking care to make rotations in order to guarantee the cohesion of the whole group and that everybody knows all areas of the site. The archaeological works will be carried out from 8 am to 11 am in the Hort del Cavaller. From 11 am to 2 pm, the items (mainly pottery) will be treated at the Museu de la Conca Dellà facilities. This program could be modified by atmospheric conditions: in case of heavy rain, the activity can be completely focused on the treatment of archaeological items.
