The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education. Informations supplémentaires

Only for participants who are interested in nature conservation and climate protection ideas. For those interested in developing their own environmental projects. Please send us your initial ideas on which topic you would like to work on in advance. ( Please note: There is a special Teenage Fee of 100€ for international volunteers who applied under 18 in this camp. Camp is only one week!

Subject to a positive funding decision, the micro-project "International Youth Camp" will be co-financed as part of the People to People Interreg V-A EMR project with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Do you want to get involved in climate and nature protection? Would you like to carry out your own actions? There are so many topics such as waste avoidance, environmental pollution, species protection, water protection or the question of how can I sensitise others to climate and nature protection? What are the environmental problems in your country? Which habitats have to adapt due to climate change? From all these questions, you will have the opportunity to plan your own nature conservation project or environmental protection action at this camp. The staff of the High Fens-Eifel Transfrontier Nature Park will show you how to create your own nature conservation or environmental project. On Sunday, you will discuss which topics are important and interesting in your region of origin. You will also have the opportunity to present your own project ideas, if you already have some. Important! During this week you will learn the basics of how to implement your own project. We would like to ask you to carry out your projects at home after the week. You may also have ideas that you can implement directly during the week. Follow-up meeting: We will meet 2 weeks after the camp via Zoom to share your projects. You will also make a group via signal/whatsapp, if you want to, to exchange ideas. As we also want to inform the ijgd workcamp-cosmos about your great projects, we would be super happy if you post your videos of your projects on our Instagram account: Instagram ijgd_workcamps, Facebook @ijgd.workcamps On Monday, you will get an insight into the scientific basics of nature conservation. In the Prüm research laboratory, for example, you will examine bog samples. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will get to know protected areas and protected habitats and species on the Belgian side of the High Fens - Eifel Nature Park and actively help to maintain these areas. The final day is planned for Friday, when you will learn how to turn your ideas into concrete projects. An intensive week awaits you in the Eifel!
