Volunteers will also participate in some global activities with children and young people in Carmarthenshire including a school visit.
The group leaders will be a team of MTVs (medium term volunteers) who will be leading projects in Carmarthenshire for about 3-4 months.

THE LOCAL AREA & THE COMMUNITY:

Carmarthenshire is known as ‘The Garden of Wales’ for its beautiful countryside, rugged coastline and gentle hills.
Caerfyrddin (or Carmarthen, in English) is the county’s largest town, and the legendary birthplace of Myrddin, the wise magician of Welsh folklore, better known as Merlin, the wizard of Arthurian legend.
For many local people Welsh is their first language. Welsh is one of the oldest languages in Europe. It is still spoken by approximately 20% of the population.
