Notre coup de cœur !Project Background
Siluo Township
Siluo is located in the middle of Taiwan in Yun-lin County. Siluo is near the great Zhuo Shui River. The great Siluo Bridge is a famous landmark in Taiwan. You will experience the typical Taiwanese culture in Siluo Old Street; Chinese Kung-Fu , the traditional Puppet show, a sculpture park.
The aim of the project is that by inviting international volunteers we promote the Siluo culture and traditions through cultural exchange and support the community development. We wish to improve the quality of life of the local people and create a good social environement.
Work
- the maintain and management of the backpacker house. This is an international backpacker house that welcomes young people from all around the world. Volunteers will host and be in charge of the daily maintain and management of the backpacker house.
- maintain and management of the Grocery store. The volunteers will run the community’s Grocery store with the local volunteer team.
With the local volunteer team, the volunteers will also do some gardening and English teaching ( 2 hrs/week) and join social community events (Silou ROTARY club) etc… This helps the volunteers to get involved in the community. Special cultural events will be organised for the local people and volunteers.
A traditional Taiwanese town in Yun-Lin County, located in the mid-west of Taiwan.

Excursions, events with the local people, eco-tourism, etc.
Volunteers will need high motivation, an interest in learning chinese and respect the local culture.
A Skype interview will be organised.
Around NT$ 5000 will be given to the volunteer as pocket money for food.
The volunteer will cook for himself.
Internet available.
The volunteer will have 2 free days per week; Mondays and Tuesdays only.
No participation fees.
The projects 3 to 12 months.
