DESCRIPTION OF WORK.- To restore, renovate and enhance the value
of the zone, following work will be done:

surface cleaning, clearing vegetation and
removing invasive weeds.
Preparing a site for social allotments for the elderly in the
township.
Clearing work for tree areas with pruning tasks, and
reforestation of the area with native trees and shrubs.
Creating a botanical trail and fencing the area.

ACCOMMODATION.- In the State School ´Santo Tomás de Aquino´ -
Renepón street, s/n - Montoro (Córdoba).

LOCATION.- Montoro is located on a hill above the river
Guadalquivir, 41 Km from Cordoba, beside the Andalusia Highway.
Its strategic location favoured early human settlements back in
prehistoric times, and large villages had grown up by historic
times. This long history can be seen in Montoro and all along the
Upper Guadalquivir in the form of settlements, castles, palaces,
churches, convents, mansions, etc. Thus, because of its
extraordinary landscape and immeasurable historic-artistic
heritage, Montoro was declared a Historic-Artistic Site, being
the first town in Andalusia to obtain this distinction. The work
will be developed on the site called Huerta Mayor and actions
will focus on the need to prevent deterioration of this site, and
to recover it for social and environmental purposes.
