THE PROJECT:

Volunteers will be working with the Coastal Rangers in North East Wales.
Volunteers will participate in a variety of tasks including
scrub clearance
habitat management
clearing litter from the beach
maintaining and building walkways
planting hedgerows
working on walls and bridges

THE LOCAL AREA & THE COMMUNITY:

The project is located in a beautiful part of north Wales. Flintshire has medieval castles, sandy beaches and some of the most stunning scenery in North Wales.
Volunteers will be staying on the coast near sand dunes which have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The sand dunes are an important home for rare species of plants and wildlife.

THE ACCOMMODATION:

Volunteers will be staying in a holiday park in two static caravans.
Facilities at the holiday park include ATMs, pay phones, internet cafe, picnic area, a laundrette, a souvenir shop, a swimming pool and so on.
Volunteers will be approximately 5 miles away from the nearest town, Prestatyn.

THE ESSENTIALS:

Volunteers must bring steel toe capped boots.
Waterproof and warm clothing. In October there can be a lot of rain and it might be cold.
Old clothes which you don’t mind getting dirty!
