The Cooperativa sociale l'Accoglienza, founded in June of 1990, promotes and helps to develop an acceptance for those who, for a want of family and friends, need support.
"Casa Betania" is the first shelter opened by the cooperative. Casa Betania is a family house that was created in 1993 thanks to the availability of the Dolfini family and the enthusiasm of a large group of volunteers employed, based on their availabilities and attitudes, in a functional organization, and not in a hierarchy, in which some assume more responsibility than the others. The home is characterized, therefore, by the stable presence of a resident family, and a lively group of volunteers. Casa Betania wants to help each guest a bit of the way towards acquiring serenity and independence. Casa Betania is open to welcome three mothers who are either pregnant or with a baby, in situations of particular need, and five children from newborn to eight years old based on the recommendation of Social Services or the Juvenile Court.
